So we had another Dr. appt. yesterday and I am dilated to 1 CM, 50% effaced, but she moved back up to -3 station. She has been incredibly busy, kicking and flopping around so much! Trav was amazed that she flips from right to left so often- yesterday she was kicking on the right and now she is kicking on the left. What a busy bee!!
This morning I woke up with some contractions, not too bad at all, but they were coming every 20-30 minutes. So I decided to go to work and see how things go. They are not getting worse or coming any quicker, but other weird pains are happening, so I don't think that I am going to last too long here, especially since it is 30 minutes from home and the 45 from the hospital!!
So be on alert- the grappler may be coming soon!
PS: so Trav had a great idea based on Chris' excellent note-taking of contractions from Meg's labor: he is going to make a computer program with graphs to chart my contractions, intensity and such and bring it to the hospital when it is time. CRAZY!! Too much time on his hands!!

Another Baby Shower =)

My friends in Milwaukee are great. They threw me a great baby shower this past weekend. It was so nice and laid back with awesome BBQ chicken! It is so amazing to me to see the baby clothes and how small and cute! Even the pink ones!!
Anyway, to top off the busy weekend I came down with a wicked cold (thought I had strep at first) and have been sidelined with that for a bit. Irritating to say the
least! I had to stay home yesterday cause I couldn't talk or stand up very much without dizziness. So baby and I had a great time at home twisting and kicking and turning around (or she was doing all of this as I was trying to sleep)! The first picture are my friends Elizabeth (who hosted the event), her daughter Nicole, Sara and Rachel. The second pic are Ronda and Felicia, the third one is self-explanatory (Trav is still trying to pop the balloon every time he gets done working out, all that testosterone, I think!) and the last picture is all of us (Top L-R: Ronda, Felicia, Me, Tenille; Bottom L-R: Emily, Sara, Rachel and Jen).
PS: No we don't have a name yet. This is all Travis' fault. He is picking the name and hasn't decided and recently said that he won't tell me what he decides till she comes. Sorry all, I tried, but
he is having a lot of fun with this form of torture for me!

Ready for Baby?!?!??
So we have been working on the baby room since now we have some things to put in it. Trav took apart my desk for storage (of course it got hot in there and he had to take his shirt off!! =0)Trav and I set up the crib today and I washed all the baby's clothes and worked on some of her decorations (pictures I am making from scratch). I am absolutely in love with the crib and the mobile! Thank you to my mom for the crib, my friends Erin and Kristen for the crib bedding, and my aunt LuAnn for the mobile. Well done!!
We have lots of work still left to do, but things are coming along well. Not sure if we will get it done in time, but at least she has somewhere to sleep!A Baby Shower
You wouldn't believe it, but Trav had a good idea! Just kidding! Anyway, he was traveling all week in Manhatten or Orlando or something and got home late Thursday night, just in time to drive me 5 hours to St. Paul the next day. Instead, he cashed in some frequent flyer miles and I flew home for my first baby shower! What a luxury to fly for 45 minutes instead of sit in a car for 6+ hours (frequent potty breaks)!! Thank you T-Nonn!
Anyway, the party was wonderful! My sister Rachel hosted and made some incredible Martha-esque food (four types of finger sandwiches!!! Is this MY sister?) and we all had a blast. It was also great to see my mom so entralled by my growing belly, as she would always stare at it, but the baby wasn't being so cooperative, she only moved at night when I was trying to sleep! I also had a good time with my nephews, as you can see.The pictures are some gift opening, with the first being a beautiful handmade blanket made by my friend Marla, the second a fun little wagon and fleece blanket from my cousin Gretchen, my friend Erin having fun with a game Rachel concocted, my friend Jen (pregnant with identical twin girls) and myself comparing tummies, and my nephew toting around his brother in the wagon with my friend Beth's daughter, Allie. The last one is a cute one of my nephews.

Trav's new name
As most men do or know, Trav loves Ultimate Fighting. Every Friday night he has to be done with dinner by 8p so he can watch 2-3 hours of Fight Night on Spike TV. To be honest, I have never seen so much blood in a reality show or so many cauliflower ears. Those Minnesotan's may know that our lovely Brock Lesnar (U of M All-American and NCAA-champion wrestler, WWE guy, Vikings practice sqaud cut) is now an ultimate fighter. Anyway, there are all sorts of moves and grips and positions, none of which I truly care about. But when talking with him about our crazy-busy baby this week while he labors away in NYC, he has decided he will refer to her as 'my little grappler.' He thinks that she is not so much punching and kicking around but fighting and grappling in there, with what or who, I have no idea. So now he is excited for her to arrive so he can grapple with her (really that means wrestle, which means heartburn for me)! So if we can't have a boy, Trav will still do boy things with our tomboy. Hospital visits, casts and broken bones are in the Nonn household future, for sure!

My little kickboxer
When we used to live in Port Washington, I took this awesome cardio kickboxing class and loved it so much we got a punching bag (Trav broke it) and then another one, different type (almost indestructable, hopefully, just like Chris'). So last night I was trying to get to sleep when the little one decided to play Aliens and emerge from my stomach, her fist in the air (or so I imagined from seeing this crazy bump stick out of my side). We proceeded to play and she punched and punched and punched for 15 minutes straight. I called Trav (in NY) and he talked to her but couldn't seem to calm her down. I think she eventually got tired and fell asleep, but that was the most fun I have had with her so far! I can't imagine how fun it is going to be once she is out and truly kickboxing with us! Sorry no pics on this, but I am sure you can imagine. On we go....

This is for you, Mom!
I have finally done what my mom asked me to do: take a pic of my burgeoning belly and post it. My belly button hasn't popped yet, that is my belly button ring sticking out in the pic and I am going to do everything in my power to keep it in! My little rebellion against losing my figure. Not that I really wanted to post this pic, but I understand the grandparental need to see this. Plus, since I won't be back to the Cities until March 1st, I figure I owe this to her (and anyone else who wants to see). Caution: Trav doesn't call me 'Whale Lady' (or 'My Little Whale) for nothing!!Seriously speaking, all is well with our little kicker. We spent the night in the hospital last Tuesday due to a car accident. Can you believe that I wasn't at fault, was driving slow due to weather conditions (snowing), and got hit once in the front on I-94/43 and waited 10 minutes for police only to get hit again in the rear? And, the car (Nebuchadnezzer #2 is what Trav named him years back) is just a bit beat up (but getting a total makeover)!?!?!? I so wanted a new car, err SUV, but alas, I get a Focus until Nebbie is back in shape. Everything checked out OK at the hospital and contractions (Braxton-Hicks) were detected, although I had no idea. Trav had fun sleeping on the hospital couch while I tossed and turned and got a taste for the Labor & Delivery floor. ARGH!
Here's to no more excitement until the baby comes (unless it means the Badger hockey team goes to the Frozen Four or Badger basketball wins the Big Ten Title and/or goes a long way in the NCAA tourney)!!! At least we are doing better than MN in both sports! Let's Go Red!

My Ribs!!!
Our little one has made it to my ribs now. I had no idea how much kicking up there would hurt!!! The back pain has also started, so now I have a wonderful excuse for massages from Trav and professional massages!!
We took our last vacation (of our lives?) the end of January. I met Trav in Vegas for some R and R. He was there for the fantastic (enter loud drums here) 'WORLD OF CONCRETE' trade show. We saw Blue Man Group and Stomp, saw Carmen Elecktra walk the red carpet of a nightclub opening and had lots of rest and good food. Slightly depressing not knowing when our next vacay will be...besides going to Madison and St Paul.
All is going well, though. No new doctor news until the end of February. The baby's room is going very slow due to Trav's travel schedule and the large amounts of snow (snowmobiling) but I am sure that we will get it done before she turns 18!!!

The Ups and Downs...
...of having a a trampoline in my stomach on which our daughter loves to jump on:
1) Can't find a good position to sleep in or a big enough bed
2) Back and butt pain (TMI!)
3) Feeling like she is jumping up and down on my cervix and about to drop out of me or on my bladder and making me feel like I need Depends!
4) Slow days and weeks (will I ever hit 30 weeks?)
5) Feeling her kick me (like a little 'good morning mommy' greeting every hour of the day)
6) Trav giving my back rubs, water and tissues for when my hormones get the best of me
7) An excuse for why my clothes don't fit!!!
8) Seeing Trav light up when he feels her kick and him trying to 'kick' (tap) her back.
So on we go with this adventure...

Renovations!
Well, not really. But we are changing things up at the Nonn condo for our arrival and it is a mess. Unfortunately, things are slow, as I go slow and get winded fast (those triathlete lungs are gone for now!) and Trav is sick.
We have the first toys for the baby compliments of Kameron. Trav's amazing nephew Kameron called Trav (through mommy Tanya) and told him that he had toys for the baby, whenever the baby came (this was before we were pregnant) that he wanted to give the baby. Him being so young, we were very touched by this. So when Kameron came to visit for a weekend this summer, he brought his presents and had lots of fun with us playing with big machines at Trav's work, going to Great America and doing some mini-golfing in Kenosha.

Our New Addition
On November 28th, the day before our 4 year wedding anniversary, we found out that we are going to have a little girl! Our due date is around April 20th. We included our ultrasounds pictures, which I am sure will be hard for some to recognize. We'll do our best to explain each pic to you! Enjoy!

This first picture shows her little feet. You can kinda see her footprints and then a few toes if you look real hard!!
On the second photo you see her legs, as if she is laying on her side and crossing her legs. The circular part is her tummy. The next two small circles to the right of the tummy are her knees, and below each knee are her femurs. The feet are crossed on the far right side of the page.

This third photo are her hands. It is again as if she is laying on her side looking at you. Her hands are in front of her face, but you can't see her face here. You can see her fingers, also.

The last pic is her face. You see a semi-circular thing with a large black oval shaped hole. The oval-shaped hole is her forehead. Below that (to the right) are two eyes that are just black small circles, then the faint shadows of a nose and mouth, and finally her chin.
